Roofing · Dale City, VA
Roof replacement and repair for Dale City's 1960s brick ranches, split-foyers and raised ramblers, its townhouse rows and its newer colonials, from a GAF Certified Plus and CertainTeed ShingleMaster crew about 15 to 20 minutes away in Lorton.
Dale City roofing
Cecil D. Hylton opened Dale City in 1965 as a planned community, and it grew section by section along Dale Boulevard, from Ashdale and Birchdale near I-95 west through Kirkdale and Princedale to Trentdale at Hoadly Road. The early sections are mostly brick ranches, split-foyers and raised ramblers, with townhouses such as Birchdale Square added as early as 1967. Many of those houses are now on their second or third roof.
Farther west and south of Neabsco Creek the homes get newer: 1980s and 1990s Colonial Revivals in Darbydale, late-1990s colonials in Cloverdale's Cardinal Crest, and early-2000s colonials in Trentdale. We roof all of it. Every job starts with a free 25-point inspection with photos, then a written, itemized quote, and the finished work carries our 5-year workmanship warranty with $0-down financing available.

Why Dale City roofs
Sections finished in the late 1960s and 1970s have houses 50 years old or older, and roofs installed in the 1990s or early 2000s are reaching the end of a 25-to-30-year life.
Split-foyers and raised ramblers have short roof runs meeting walls and dormers. Those flashing joints are where we find the most leaks on Dale City's older houses.
Kirkdale, Evansdale and Forestdale have heavily treed streets and sycamore-shaded lots. Shade keeps shingles damp, feeds algae and moss, and drops limbs in summer storms.
Local know-how
Dale City is not an incorporated town; it is a community in Prince William County, so there's no town hall to deal with. Prince William County doesn't require a permit to re-roof a house, so nothing on the county side holds up your start date. Some homes here have no HOA at all, but if your townhouse or subdivision has covenants, roofing can need association approval first. One exception applies: replacing more than 256 square feet of roof sheathing needs a Prince William County permit, which we handle whenever the decking calls for it.
Weather is the other half of the work. The June 29, 2012 derecho hit all of Prince William County, and summer thunderstorms still bring wind, hail and fallen limbs most years. Winter freeze-thaw opens up old flashing and cracked pipe boots. When storm damage may be covered, we photograph every damaged area so your insurance adjuster has the documentation.
