Roof Repair · Springfield, VA
Leaks, lifted shingles and failed flashing on Springfield's 1960s and '70s split-levels, ramblers and colonials, fixed right the first time by a GAF Certified Plus crew based minutes away in Lorton.
Springfield roof repair
Most homes in North Springfield, Cardinal Forest, Saratoga and West Springfield went up in the 1960s and '70s, and many are on their second or third roof. The leaks we fix here usually start at the same few places: the joint where a split-level's upper and lower rooflines meet a wall, chimney flashing that was caulked over at the last re-roof instead of replaced, and pipe boots that crack after 10 to 15 years of summer sun.
Springfield's mature, wooded lots add their own wear. Shaded slopes hold moisture, overflowing gutters back water under the first course of shingles, and limbs scrape or puncture the roof in a storm. We find where the water is actually getting in, which is often feet from the ceiling stain, show you photos, and quote the repair in writing before any work starts.
What we fix
Where a lower roof runs into the upper story's wall, step flashing rusts out or was never installed right. We replace it and the counter-flashing behind the siding.
Summer microbursts and the occasional derecho lift and crease shingles on exposed slopes. We replace and hand-seal them, matched to your existing roof.
Fallen branches and clogged gutters on treed lots cause punctures and eave rot. We repair the decking, drip edge and shingles together so the fix holds.
Active leak?
Water coming in right now? Call and we prioritize a same-day tarp to stop the damage, then schedule the permanent repair right away.
Local know-how
Springfield is unincorporated Fairfax County, so any permit runs through the county rather than a town office. Small repairs generally don't need one; larger jobs that replace decking or a big share of the roof can, and we check and pull it ourselves when it's required. If your neighborhood has an HOA, we match shingle color and style to the existing roof so the repair doesn't trigger an architectural review.
Storm damage is the other half of our Springfield work. The June 2012 derecho pushed 60-to-80-plus mph winds through Fairfax County, and hail and microbursts come back most summers. That damage is often covered by homeowners insurance, and we photograph and document every damaged area so your adjuster has what they need.
